If you don’t understand what is the hash value of a file, then, i don’t think you have to study this application, because maybe you do not need to use it or even know it at all.

HashTab (full name: HashTab Shell Extension) is an excellent Windows shell extension program, its function is to add a “File Hashes” tab in the “File Properties” window of Windows Explorer, after selecting it, it will show you MD5, SHA1 and CRC-32 three hash values clearly (all of which are frequently-used in the file integrity validation).

HashTab not only allows to calculate the file hash value, in addition, through clicking the “Compare a File…” button you can also compare the hash values of different files!
