First of all, let make a short intro to the XM digital sound file format: XM, standing for “extended module“, is an audio file type introduced by Triton‘s FastTracker 2. It is difficult to use common audio player to open it.

Indeed, ModPlug Player is my favorite and the best MOD, IT, S3M, XM player (light-weight, friendly UI and powerful). It’s an all-in-one player for all kinds of MODule music files. Meanwhile ModPlug Player can easily convert .xm to the .it, .wav file formats (just with one-button click).

Certainly, we can’t miss the XMPlay. But I won’t do extra explanation to its lots of functions here, if interested, give it a try.
