Snipaste (formerly called: PicNotes) is a compact, simple but overwhelmingly powerful and efficient screenshots making tool from China. Its independent developer spent 3 years to create this very special screen capture application, which combines screenshot + annotation + mapping these 3 major functions in one place. It is currently the only real edge tool for making screenshots on Windows, Mac and Linux! In contrast, you will immediately realize that – the working efficiency of using the traditional screen capture software is too low, and your screenshots operation and using habit must change dramatically in the future.

In addition to the powerful screenshot functions, Snipaste can also directly annotate the contents in the clipboard (previous screenshots, copied text, image, web page, code, etc.) in the form of image, and then immediately paste them back to your screen for a second or multiple screenshots. You don’t need to open a image browser at all throughout the entire screenshot making process, and it allows user to place the finished screenshots on your screen for use at will. Moreover, Snipaste supports scaling, rotating, translucence, intelligent screenshot area identification ability, even the simple GIF screen capture function.

If you’re a programmer, designer, or anybody who spend most of your working time on a computer, I do believe you can see the efficiency boost that Snipaste brings to you. BTW, Snipaste is easy to get started with, meanwhile, it also provides some hidden features that can get your work efficiency lifted further. The time you start using this program, you might want to give up any traditional screen capture software that you’re using or ever used.
