As a comprehensive and scalable GIS platform, ArcGIS‘ products line provides complete GIS functions for individual and group users on the desktop, server, in the open air, even through the Web. In other words, ArcGIS is implemented based on a set of common component libraries composed of shared GIS components, which can meet all requirements of GIS users. It enables users to enjoy the agile and intelligent working experience anytime and anywhere, through any device.

ArcGIS is the world’s first modern and commercial GIS software. In the mid-1990s, Esri’s products line continued to grow, and launched Windows NT based ArcInfo (formerly called ARC/INFO) product, providing users with a variety of options for GIS and mapping needs. As a result, Esri has held a leading position in the worldwide GIS markets. Now, ArcGIS 10 is the world’s first GIS platform supporting cloud architecture, and has made GIS realize a leap from sharing to collaboration in the era of Web 2.0. Meanwhile, ArcGIS 10 is equipped with the real 3D modeling, editing and analyzing capabilities, and realizes a leap from three-dimensional space to four-dimensional space and time. Plus, its true integration of remote sensing and GIS highlights the value of the RS + GIS combination.

With the rapid development of new technologies nowadays, ArcGIS is creating a more intelligent GIS platform for users through a series of technological innovations. For example: brand-new hierarchical authorization mode, fresh-new i3S three-dimensional standard, new big data analyzing & processing product, efficient real-time data analyzing and processing product, a new set of professional video production tools, a new spatial data mining product, new collaboration and sharing mode, a new generation of ArcGIS server software ArcGIS Enterprise, cross-platform product development SDKs ArcGIS Runtime, and more.

// Key Features //

Spatial Analysis & Data Science
Connect the seemingly disconnected with the most comprehensive set of analytical methods and spatial algorithms available. Use location as the connective thread to uncover hidden patterns, improve predictive modeling, and create a competitive edge. Leverage the power of spatial analysis and data science on demand and at scale with the Esri Geospatial Cloud.
Field Operations
Location is at the heart of field activities. Focused ArcGIS applications can be used stand-alone or in combination to support field workflows and enable office and field personnel to work in unison, using the same authoritative data.
Mapping & Visualization
Maps help you spot spatial patterns in your data so you can make better decisions and take action. Maps also break down barriers and facilitate collaboration. ArcGIS gives you the ability to create, use, and share maps on any device.
Real-Time Visualization and Analytics
Real-time GIS empowers you with location monitoring of any type of sensor or device — accelerating response times, optimizing safety, and improving operational awareness across all assets and activities, whether in motion or at rest.
3D GIS
3D GIS brings real-world context to your maps and data. Instantly transform your data into smart 3D models and visualizations that help you analyze and solve problems and share ideas and concepts with your team and customer.
Imagery & Remote Sensing
ArcGIS gives you everything you need to manage and extract answers from imagery and remotely sensed data. It includes imagery tools and workflows for visualization and analysis, and access to the world’s largest imagery collection.
Data Collection & Management
With ArcGIS, you can easily collect, crowdsource, store, access, and share your data efficiently and securely. You can integrate data stored in your business systems and geo-enable any data from any source.
