The license key files you can get here are universal for Avira (short for Anti-Virus I Rank A) all products for both Free and Home (personal) use, and working for Avira 9, 10, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 all versions and all languages.

// Installation Notes //

  1. Download the latest version of Avira offline setup from official site or AppNee
  2. Run the ‘Host Patch.bat‘ as administrator, or add the following lines to your hosts file manually:
    • 127.0.0.1 license.avira.com
    • 127.0.0.1 62.146.210.6
    • 127.0.0.1 62.146.210.10
  3. Run Avira setup
  4. Select “Install Avira Antivirus Pro“
  5. Click ‘I already have a valid license file‘, and select the license file
  6. Finish installation
  7. Restart computer
  8. Done

*** If you have problems downloading updates, remove those lines above from your hosts file.

*** If someday you found the license key expired again, then just disable Avira’s automatic update feature and use the manual update instead (once a week is a good practice). You can find related links and tips below.

// Tips for Avira Manual Update //

There are two kinds of virus library file types now:

  • xvdf_fusebundle.zip – for latest version of Avira Antivirus Pro
  • vdf_fusebundle.zip – for older versions (v13 or lower) of Avira Antivirus Pro

Application scope of Virus library versions:

  • iVDF – can be only used to Version 8 or lower
  • nVDF – can be only used to Version 9~14
  • xVDF – can be only used to Version 14 or higher

// Prompts //

  • If some license key file is shown as ‘Evaluation License‘ someday, do not worry, just re-install the license key file once more. Or the better way is – disable Avira’s automatic update, use the manual update instead.
  • If you cannot uninstall the Avira launcher, just download and install it again, then uninstall it from Programs and Features as usual
