The find of BitAnalyzer was purely accidental. I was just trying to look for some online MP3 cutter scripts written in PHP for SoulCourier project, and BitAnalyzer just attracted my sight in the last opened web page I was trying to close.

As a freeware URL finder, analyzer (I prefer to call this kind of tool as Sniffer), BitAnalyzer is lightweight, very useful and easy-to-use, with which we can find the direct and final resource files (especially variety of streaming media files, such as music MP3 file, Flash online game SWF file, online video MP4 file…) we want just were hidden behind the website URLs (in multiple protocols: HTTP, MMS, RTSP…) by JavaScript or ActiveX scripts. As a result, we can download there resource files directly with downloading tools.

Below is sample with simple screenshots to make you understand by sense that how to forcibly use a downloader to download MP3 file from a online music listening website with hotlink protection for its inner media files.

// System Requirements //

  • WinPcap (Windows Packet Capture), make sure to install this tiny libpcap library first, or BitAnalyzer can’t work.

// Prompts //

Run BitAnalyzer as administrator at least once, or it can not detect/initialize the Adapter information.
