Cities: Skylines is a cross-platform city simulation type game with very high playability, developed by Colossal Order from Finland in 2015, using Unity. As a modern take on the classic city simulation games, the game’s theme is to build and maintain your own huge, modern city.

Cities: Skylines can be seen as a spin-off work of the Cities in Motion series, and has a better reputation than other city simulation games like Cities XXL. It not only faithfully inherited many of the best traditions of its predecessors, but also introduced new elements and gameplays in a pioneering way. While giving players a first-hand taste of the excitement and hardship of creating and sustaining a real city, it also extends some of the enduring themes of the city-building experience.

Players can create a variety of game contents (from lake and river to buildings and parks) in third-party software, and then transfer them to game using the in-game material converter to use. Additionally, Cities: Skylines supports the use of a fairly extensive modeling systems to build or improve existing maps and structures in reality, then imports them into the game. At the same time, the game allows players to share their creations with a large number of enthusiasts around the world.

Want to build and run your own city in the game’s world? Believe me, all of this can be done beautifully in Cities: Skylines, all limited by your imagination. Of course, building a city seems simple, but in fact, to master the normal operation of a city needs to take into account many aspects: education, transportation, fire control, public security, economy, and much more. Here, the player is not only the builder and manager of the city, but also the mayor, who is playing a decisive role in urban planning and municipal construction.

// Key Features //

Multi-tiered and challenging simulation
Constructing your city from the ground up is easy to learn, but hard to master. Playing as the mayor of your city you’ll be faced with balancing essential requirements such as education, water electricity, police, fire fighting, healthcare and much more along with your citys real economy system. Citizens within your city react fluidly, with gravitas and with an air of authenticity to a multitude of game play scenarios.
Extensive local traffic simulation
Colossal Order’s extensive experience developing the Cities in Motion series is fully utilized in a fully fleshed out and well-crafted local traffic simulation.
Districts and Policies
Be more than just an administrator from city hall. Designating parts of your city as a district results in the application of policies which results in you rising to the status of Mayor for your own city.
Utilize the Day and Night Cycle
The city changes during the hours of the day and affects citizen schedules. Traffic is visibly slower at night and some zoned areas do not work with full efficiency. Cities: Skylines will put you in control of managing the different aspects of the day and night cycles.
Extensive modding support
Build or improve on existing maps and structures. You can then import your creations into the game, share them as well as download the creations of other city builders on the Steam workshop.
