ClothWorks is a heavyweight cloth simulation extension/plugin specially made for SketchUp. It is able to simulate various fabric effects in SketchUp very easily and realistically, such as the deformations of flags, curtains, tablecloths, and so forth distorted by forces such as gravity and wind.

ClothWorks has a very friendly control panel and powerful cloth simulation capabilities, and is by far the most powerful fabric simulation plugin for SketchUp. We can not only use it to make tablecloths, curtains, bed sheets, flags and other fabric objects more realistically and easily, but also simulate the movement of fabrics through animation. This greatly improves the production efficiency of fabric models. In addition, fabric maps can automatically correct with fabric deformation very accurately in ClothWorks, there is no need for the user to re-specify the map coordinates.

In fact, the feature of fabric simulation has existed in MSPhysics earlier on, but its functions in all aspects are still imperfect. ClothWorks is more professional and powerful by comparison. Of course, you’ll find that it looks a lot like the fabric simulation tool in Autodesk 3ds Max. In fact, they all work in the same way. If you find the simulated fabric is very unnatural, then you can use the unique Lapras smoothing feature of ClothWorks to solve this problem with one click.

// Key Features //

  • Support for rapid simulation to cloth that is affected by gravity
  • Simulate the deformation caused by external force such as wind
  • Through this plug-in, you can better complete the simulation of various tablecloths, flags
  • Objects made with this plugin are more realistic
  • Support for simple animation production
  • The fabric texture supports automatic correction to fabric
  • No mapping coordinates are required
