PopCap Games produced a lot of classic small PC game works with high playablity, Cosmic Bugs is one of them (developed by Retro64 in 2004). This delicate small puzzle game challenges player’s judgment and reaction speed. You may played similar games on the FC console long ago, yet I can’t call out all of their names, but two of which should be JezzBall and Qix.
Compared with similar video games, Cosmic Bugs’ game rule is much or less the same, but also has something special. We can say it takes the game concept to a whole new level. This does not only cover the 3D rendered graphics, digital sound, new enemies, and tons of power-ups. Even more incredible, this small game actually contains over 500 levels with increasing difficulty, does not require any special hardware, and very easy to control and play! All of these make it come with pretty high playability.
Although the game difficulty is a little high, for example, once you start cutting the map you can not move. But as compensation, Cosmic Bugs offers a variety of power-up props to help players, as well as some harmful ones to you, of course. In game, as long as the opportunity is proper, it’s also possible to wipe out all of the monsters all at once or cut the map 100%. To sum up, Cosmic Bugs has a relatively high requirement to players’ ability on the judgment and grasp of timing. So it’s strongly recommend to guys who always like to challenge themselves.
