Dxtory is a small game video capturing tool from Japan, specially designed for DirectX and OpenGL programs. In Dxtory, the video data is directly captured from a surface memory buffer, that’s why it is so fast and only needs very little system resource.

Counting the Action!, there are a total of four game video recording artifacts on the Internet now (the original three are: Bandicam, Fraps, and Dxtory). Among them, the definition of game video recorded using Dxtory can match Fraps, but without the frame loss problem of the latter (much better than Fraps)! In particular, in Dxtory, the format of recorded game video is directly converted (compressed), you don’t have to extra take time to manually convert the dozens of GBs of uncompressed video file as Fraps.

As usual, AppNee direct skips the details about how to use Dxtory, just gives a little experience, especially about the decoder settings. By default, the size of game video can be as big as 1 GB/min using the built-in decoder to record. Although it allows us to change the video recording quality, we always recommend using MPEG-4 decoding (this may require you to install a third-party video decoder). Because this way, the file size of 10 minutes length of video can be as small as 40 MB.
