Digital license is a simpler and more efficient way of activation/authorization newly adopted by Windows 10, which only relies on the configuration information of your computer hardware. After activating system for the first time, as long as you don’t change the CPU and other devices connected to the mainboard, you can feel free to connect to Microsoft server to repeatedly, automatically and permanently activate your Windows 10 at any moment, without having to input the product key again and again every time you install the system.

For Windows 10, no matter how it is activated (upgrades from Windows 7/8.1, is a bought retail version, or is bound with BIOS, namely the MSDM license), the activation will be converted to a unique Digital License of the corresponding Hardware ID (HWID). This license will be sent to and stored on Microsoft server, then each time you make a fresh install of Windows and connect to MS server successfully, it will activate this machine automatically. This license will remain in valid, until the hardware changes. Of course, binding it to your Microsoft account can achieve the goal of transferring your license to another machine with different hardware configuration.

HWID GEN (AKA: Hwidgen) is a Digital License generating tool that does not require the KMS activation or upgrade trick (upgrade to a newer Windows from an older version of Windows installation), developed by s1ave77 from MDL (My Digital Life). It activates all editions/versions (including the VL editions) of Windows 10 OS with permanent Digital Licence. Plus, the activation process is simple, neither affects any system files nor uses any leaked or stolen activation keys.

HWID GEN is written in AutoHotkey script language (the .mk3 extension in file name stands for the AutoHotkey program extension), embedding the gatherosstate.exe file (you can extract it from the official Windows 10 ISO) and the open-source slshim32.dll file on GitHub (compiled as an EXE file). That’s why you can completely realize the whole activation process manually. Its working principle is to use Microsoft’s vulnerability to tamper with Windows registry to achieve the goal of activation, which runs in the same groove with the transmitting principle of the crazy WannaCry (ransomware cryptoworm), as well as the more skillful and low-key Adylkuzz (cryptocurrency-mining malware) – utilizing the Windows MS17-010 bug to achieve a computer invasion. BTW, in my opinion, the author of Adylkuzz is more intelligent and farsighted. In contrast, WannaCry is like a mindless mob!
