Microsoft has been a world leader in the area of program development all the time. Visual Studio 6.0 is a very classic programming component (Integrated Development Environment) introduced by Microsoft in 1998. This is the last version to run on the Windows 9x platform, the last version to include Visual J++, the last program development component of Microsoft that does not support the .NET Framework (Microsoft started to fully support the object-oriented .NET Framework from the next release of Visual Studio – 7.0), also the next four versions’ core environment that provides programmers with an integrated look-alike platform.
Visual Studio 6.0 is a basically complete set of development tools, has built-in Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual J++, etc., a total of eight independent programming tools. It includes most of the tools needed throughout the entire software development lifecycle, such as UML tool, code management tool, integrated development environment (IDE), and so forth. With Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0’s full suite of rapid application development tools, programmers can quickly create task-oriented commercial solutions, and you can choose any tool you need to create Windows- or Web-oriented components and applications.
Visual Studio 6.0 has two editions: Professional Edition and Enterprise Edition. The Enterprise edition contains extra features not included in the Professional edition, including:
