Yesterday (2018/10/05), I suddenly thought of a interesting question: how many times do I click the mouse in front of my computer every day, and how many times do I hit the keys on my keyboard? It may seem like a meaningless thing, but that can motivate me to work hard in another way, from another level. Then I searched and found at least 5 measurement and statistics tools that can record and display the mouse and keyboard usage, and one of which is Mousotron. Other tools such as Application Usage Statistics, WhatPulse, OctoMouse and RSIGuard will be slowly added to AppNee.

Mousotron is a simple and very practical small application. It can record, count and display the active time of mouse, the movement speed and distance of mouse pointer, the number of mouse clicks (including the number of pressing left key, right key and middle key), as well as the number of keystrokes on the keyboard in real time. And more, it also monitors and records the times you double click the mouse, the rotation distance of the mouse wheel, even the real-time X and Y coordinates of your mouse pointer on screen.

As a powerful but very small and handy mouse/keyboard activity recording & tracking tool, Mousotron only takes very few system resources, so that you can have it boot up with the system. Finally, I think Mousotron also can be used in some special situations as follows:

  • find out if anyone else has used your computer since you left it
  • use it to test the service life of a mouse and a keyboard (which is very meaningless)
