Norton Utilities is a well-known and very classic PC utilities software for DOS and Windows, developed by Peter Norton in 1982 (later sold to Symantec Corporation). It integrates disk editing, disk diagnosis and repair, system optimization, system performance testing, virus detection and removal and many other functions in one place, can help users quickly and intelligently optimize the system, so as to improve user computer performance.

Norton Utilities includes Norton Diagnostics (a system diagnostics tool), Disk Doctor (disk diagnostics and repair), System Doctor (monitor PC resource usage), Optimization Wizard (system optimization tool), WinDoctor (solve common Windows running faults), WipeInfo (clean files completely), Image (take snapshots of the key parts of your hard drive), Speed Disk (defragment your hard disk), System Information (full display of system information), UnErase Wizard (recovery of accidentally deleted files), Registry Tracker and Editor (automatic monitoring of system changes, no need to worry about installing or uninstalling software), and more.

Norton Utilities is a comprehensive, efficient and safe way to improve your system’s performance by cleaning, organizing, inspecting, repairing, maintaining, speeding up, enhancing your system, and so on. At that time, only the famous PC Tools series could compete. Later, Symantec simply bought its developer Central Point Software in 1994, so that PC Tools family has since disappeared in the software market. And then later, Symantec acquired Norton Utilities too, but Norton Utilities is still there.
