SIW (short for System Information for Windows) is a very powerful and advanced computer detailed information analyzing and viewing tool, developed by Topala Software Solutions from Canada. This compact program enables user to easily browse quite extensive information about hardware and software along with their configuration of your computer. Besides, various network information can also be viewed here.
In addition to the basic functions such as checking all the hardware information, software information (including hardware drivers and system components), network information, and computer configuration, SIW also supports viewing the registration information of all software installed in Windows, the username and password used in IE and Firefox, and so on. Moreover, all the information can be exported as report files in CSV, HTML, TXT or XML format, or sent directly to the printer. Furthermore, SIW also comes with a mass of practical utilities, a clean user interface, weighs very little and works quite quickly, and supports command line operation.
In a word, SIW is very powerful. Regardless of CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, video card, optical drive, operating system, network adapter, various system processes, system services, etc., SIW is able to show their information and status in real time. It offers so many options, which at least are a little confusing for me, but that doesn’t affect its ease of use. BTW, SIW has one obvious disadvantage – it takes a bit long waiting time to detect all kinds of information. Everest, by contrast, does better in this respect.
