Recently, my camera broke down and I had to use my laptop’s low-end inbuilt camera to take photos (I haven’t had a smartphone yet, maybe I will buy one as soon as possible for the convenience of taking photos). Even worse, the image format used by ECap is BMP, which is extremely big in size. So I tried to convert it to PNG format with PNGGauntlet, but found that it would take dozens of hours at least to convert 356 BMP format of images to PNG format. This is really a bit joke!

VLC media player (VLC for short = abbreviation of VideoLAN Client) is a free, open-source and cross-platform multimedia player developed by VideoLAN from France. VideoLAN was originally a project plan of the students at École Centrale Paris (ECP) started in 2001, with members from all over the world. It originally consisted of VideoLAN Client (VLC) and VideoLAN Server (VLS) these two programs. However, because most of the VLS functionalities had been integrated into VLC, they eventually renamed this project VLC media player.

When surfing the Internet, whenever we come across a useful or favorite website/URL, we are likely to add it into our bookmarks. Over time, the bookmarks we collected become more and more and messy (especially the ones that are broken and duplicated). At this time, do a thorough cleaning is very meaningful. However, manually opening webpage links one by one for verification and collation fomr the inbuilt bookmark manager of web browser is extremely tedious and inefficient.
