Toziuha Night is a metroidvania-like, pixel-style independent 2D action adventure game series, developed by an amateur game developer Danny Garay from Nicaragua, using Godot game engine. Danny Garay is a big fan of the Castlevania series, which shows how much his games have been influenced by Castlevania works.

As a dark fantasy action RPG, Toziuha Night’s graphics feature retro & pixel style, and it has rich level design, fascinating combo system, smooth action design, novel weapon and item enhancement system, rich interactive system, various side quests for adding challenge to the game, and allows player to navigate through different non-linear maps. In short, it has many classic elements like Castlevania and Metroid.

As of writing this post, the whole series has two works: Toziuha Night: Order of the Alchemists and Toziuha Night: Dracula’s Revenge. The former is free, the latter is commercial, and both support Windows, Mac, Linux and Android platforms. Toziuha Night: Order of the Alchemists adopts the style, gameplay, and worldview of early Castlevania works. The story of Toziuha Night: Dracula’s Revenge is positioned as a prequel of the former, but their main difference lies in the storyline.
