1. Download and install your Autodesk product (do not start it)
2. Install the Autodesk Network License Manager (the default path is “C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\“)
3. (this step depends) Stop any running process (like lmgrd.exe, adskflex.exe)
4. Copy the unlocked file ‘adskflex.exe‘ to installation folder and overwrite
5. Copy the unlocked file ‘netapi32.dll‘ or ‘version.dll‘ to the following path and overwrite:
   • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\AdskLicensingAgent\
6. Open the license file ‘License.lic‘ or ‘lic.dat‘ with your text editor, and replace strings “HOSTNAME/LOCALHOST” and “MAC” (just at the first line) with your own info (You can run LMTOOLS, and get this info under “System Settings“. The “Ethernet” field is your MAC address. You can also change the “VENDOR” and “USE_SERVER port” fileds as you like)
7. Save this file anywhere (but to “C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\” is better)
8. Now you have 2 choices:
   1. Run the Network License Manager with command “lmgrd.exe -z -c lic.dat” from “C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\” folder
   2. (suggested) Copy LMTOOLS to “C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\” folder and run it, then:
      1. Under “Config Services“, change the service name to “Autodesk“, then set “C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\lmgrd.exe” for “Path to the lmgrd.exe file“, select the license file you put it for “Path to the license file“, check “Start Server at Power Up” and “Use Services” options, and click ‘Save Servive‘
      2. Under “Service/License File“, select “Configuration using Services” and check “LMTOOLS Ignore license file path environment variables” (do not check this option if you
         you want to use a distributed licensing, othwerwise you will have to edit or create a Licpath.lic file)
      3. Under “Start/Stop/Reread“, click ‘Start Server‘, then click ‘ReRead License File‘
      4. Under “Server Status“, click ‘Perform Status Enquiry‘, and make sure you can see info like “adskflex: UP v11.18.0“, “Users of 87545ACD_2022_0F: (Total of 100 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)“
      5. Under “Server Diags“, check all featured that can be checked
9. Run your Autodesk product
10. When prompted, select “Use a network license“, select “Single license server“, and input 127.0.0.1, localhost or the address where the flexlm daemon is installed (the syntax could be port@server).
11. Done

*** In some cases, after restarting your computer, it still requires  the license path. Then you can run “services.msc“, and make Autodesk License Server service run in the Automatic mode.

To set the environment variable on Windows 7+:

1. Enter “Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System\Advanced system settings\Advanced\Environment Variables…\System variables“
2. Click ‘New…‘, input “ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE” in the “Variable name” field, and input strings as follows in the “Variable value” field:
   • @server1;@server2;@server3 (serverX = the host name of each license server to which you want to point the client)
3. Add the following lines to your hosts file:
   • 127.0.0.1 genuine-software.autodesk.com
   • 127.0.0.1 genuine-software1.autodesk.com
   • 127.0.0.1 genuine-software2.autodesk.com
   • 127.0.0.1 ase.autodesk.com
   • 127.0.0.1 ase-cdn-stg.autodesk.com
4. Done

*** Don’t forget to open your firewall. You may also need to check the LICPATH.LIC file in the installation path in case you have issues.

*** If you still want to use 2018/2019/2020/2021 applications, simply add their features with the corrected signature into the new lic.dat license file.

1. (optional) Disable SIP from Recovery macOS boot
2. Install your Autodesk Product (2020-2026) for Mac
3. Install Autodesk Licensing Service
4. Install License Manager
5. Copy the unlocked file “libadlmint.dylib” to the following path and overwrite:
   • :/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/AdskLicensing/Current/AdskLicensingAgent/AdskLicensingAgent.app/Contents/PlugIns/
6. Copy the unlocked file “adskflex” and license file (license .dat) to the following path and overwrite:
   • /usr/local/flexnetserver/
7. Run terminal, execute the following lines sequentially:
   • cd /usr/local/flexnetserver
   • ./lmgrd -c license.dat
   • hostname (get the string like “WhiteDeath.local”)
   • scutil –get LocalHostName (get the string like “whitedeath1s-MacBook-Pro“)
   • scutil –get HostName (get the string like “hostname is not set”)
   • (optional) sudo scutil –set HostName whitedeath1s-MacBook-Pro.local
8. Add the following line to your hosts file:
   • 127.0.0.1 whitedeath1s-MacBook-Pro.local whitedeath1s-MacBook-Pro
9. Run terminal, execute “./lmgrd -c license.dat“
10. Run your Autodesk Product, select “Use a network license“, and input “27080@localhost“
11. Done
