HiddeX is a tiny desktop-enhancing program, developed by Igor Smorodsky from Russia. It’s designed with the specific purpose of hiding currently active programs on a computer, without terminating their processes. It has the capability of making chosen programs vanish entirely from your screen, and can also conceal taskbar icons.
HiddeX comes with user-friendly interface, which unifies all customizable settings into a single panel for easy configuration. Although there isn’t a detailed user manual, hovering over specific settings reveals internal tips offering additional insight into their functionality. It can automatically log all actively running programs, allowing users to filter them based on their title bar text, process, or other parameters.
Additionally, HiddeX allows hotkey reassignments for triggering the hiding process, along with other options like hiding only the active window with custom keyboard shortcuts. Multiple operations including hiding the HiddeX panel, concealing all windows, and enabling hotkeys and mouse clicks for triggering the hiding process can be automated upon launching the software.
Mouse functionality configuration is also possible, allowing you to hide applications with the middle mouse button, scroll wheel, or when the cursor is moved to the corner of the screen. Its advanced features include options to launch HiddeX at Windows startup, hide tray icons, or mute audio after hiding windows.
