The cache files/folders of almost all software will be placed on the C drive (system partition), and many of them are not allowed to be changed. Over time, this will not only lead to less and less space on the C drive, but also seriously affect the system performance, especially for computers that use SSDs. For web browsers, it is cumbersome to manually transfer the path of its cache folder. In this case, Cache Relocator can simply solve this problem.

Cache Relocator is a very simple and practical browser cache file relocation tool, developed by SoftPerfect from Australia. It can automatically detect all browsers installed in your current system and display their current cache locations, then users can modify the cache locations of all popular browsers with one click, so as to free up space on the C drive. Its working principle is to create a symbolic link and redirects the cache folder to the location of your choice. Even better, if you want to change the cache location back later, just click ‘Restore Default’.

The reason why it is not recommended to clear the browser’s cache is because the cache is an important working mechanism for the browser to improve its own and Internet performance. And moving the cache file to a RAM drive is because RAM disk is currently the only and fastest known way to read/write files. Even better, this method can effectively reduce the lifetime loss of hard disk while greatly improving the overall performance of computer. In other words, since the RAM drive is available, the cache folder of any program has a better storage location.
