If you run out of space on drive C (system partition) or SSD, or want to slim them down, you can move the programs you installed in them to other places. Direct moving a program does not work properly, and uninstalling then reinstalling a program is too inefficient. The correct solution is: first cut each installed program to its new location; then create a Symbolic Link (which looks like a shortcut with the same name) pointing to the new location in its original location. If you find this a bit of a hassle or are afraid to try, FolderMove can help you automate this process.

FolderMove is a portable, free, tiny, practical and intuitive tool for moving program installations in your operating system, working by automatically creating symbolic links. It can move your installed programs from one path to a different path on the same or another hard disk, without having to break or reinstall them. And it will not affect the use of the program as if nothing had happened.

FolderMove must be started with administrator permission, otherwise, an error message is displayed. In addition, you should make sure that the program to be moved has been completely stopped (including background processes), and use LockHunter to forcibly stop software running if necessary. Finally, you need to make sure that the destination path of the migration does not contain non-English characters, otherwise an error may be reported.
