When you use your computer to video chat with others, you may encounter awkward situations where the camera doesn’t work, isn’t clear enough, can’t adjust its angle, or even doesn’t have a camera. In such cases, you can connect and use your phone’s camera for video calls via some software. Even with an old phone, its clarity is far better than almost any built-in or external HD camera. Better yet, you can also adjust its position and viewing angle at will.

Iriun Webcam (Iriun for short) is a free and cross-platform webcam driver program with good compatibility. It enables you to use your Android or iOS phone’s camera as a wireless webcam with any video chatting application on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. It supports resolutions up to 4K (max resolution depends on your phone).

Iriun Webcam has a very simple connection mode, allowing users to easily and quickly connect to a variety of mobile phone cameras; can connect multiple mobile phone cameras at the same time (up to 4); and has HD images. In addition, you can even use it to push streams via OBS. Of course, Iriun Webcam is not suitable for use as a surveillance camera, and does not have the functionality of an IP camera.

// System Requirements //

  • Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime
  • Android 5.1+
