The renovation, rectification, and decoration of the facades or interiors of many old houses is usually a huge workload, and the first thing to bear the brunt is measurement. If the traditional operation method is used, more manpower and time are required. With the continuous development and innovation of science and technology, Leica BLK3D provides us with a lightweight and visualized building facade measurement method, which can quickly and accurately obtain facade data.

As a 3D reality measuring instrument that innovatively combines the photogrammetry function with the EDM laser distance measurement function, Leica BLK3D can measure any 3D dimension on a photo by simply clicking the screen to shoot. This flexible and innovative measurement tool has been widely used in various industries since its introduction. By combining measurement sensors, software, and on-device edge data processing function, Leica BLK3D can perform in-picture measurements with professional-grade accuracy in real time.

In Leica BLK3D, each image captured is a complete and precise 3D measurement record of any given environment. Its edge computing capabilities eliminate the need for Internet connectivity and cloud services, ensuring professionals can make faster decisions in their daily workflows – whether surveying inaccessible locations, creating floor plans, estimating building installations, documenting construction on-site progress or creating measurable as-built documentation.

Leica BLK3D Desktop is the desktop companion software for this leading real-time, in-picture 3D measurement solution, developed by Leica Geosystems from Switzerland. Users can send 3D images captured by the Imager to a computer, use Leica BLK3D Desktop to open and edit these images, and measure distances or areas in 3D thanks to the same advanced capture algorithms as BLK3D itself. Plus, it can export measurements as CAD drawings, JPG or PDF, and use the optional 3D modeler to create 3D CAD models (DXF or DXG) from measurements (extracting dimensions and geometry).
