Playnite supports a wide range of 3rd-party game libraries and game emulators. In addition to native PC and emulator games, it can also automatically import games from game platforms like Amazon Games, Battle.net, Uplay, Bethesda, Epic, GOG, Humble, itch.io, Origin, PlayStation, Steam, Twitch, Ubisoft Content, Xbox. Playnite takes the IGDB data and presents the game information. Of course, there are cases where the data is not available, then we can edit the game details ourselves.

In addition to changing general information, game covers, launch parameters, changing themes, using plugins, and counting game runtime, Playnite also allows us to use custom scripts. To do this, it provides three hooks, which can execute the script before and after the game starts and when it exits. For example: run a modifier before and after the game starts.

For games from game platforms, Playnite launches the platform’s client when you run the game, so installing Playnite doesn’t mean you don’t have to install the platform’s client.
