PowerISO is a universal, all-in-one solution for processing CD/DVD/Blu-ray Disc image files. It features small file size (less than 5 MB), fast loading speed, and other related characteristics. Plus, it’s easy to use, supports the shell integration, clipboard, and drag & drop operation. By using its built-in virtual drive, it’s possible to directly mount an image file as a virtual drive, so that you do not need to extra install other virtual drive software like Daemon Tools.
PowerISO is able to open, extract, create, edit, convert, compress, encrypt (password protection), burn and rip almost all common disc image file formats (including ISO, BIN, NRG, IMG, as well as the advanced image formats like DAA = Direct Access Archive used by CD/DVD/BD). Its inbuilt virtual drive allows to load the image file to run in real time. And best of all, PowerISO enables the image file in a compressed state to be used directly without decompression first.
We can regard PowerISO as an independent virtual drive software, a standalone disc burning tool, also a separate image file processing program, because PowerISO contains all the functions that these tools must have. We can even say that it covers all aspects for CD/DVD image processing, and supports reading an image file in the form of a virtual drive. As a consequence, we can see that PowerISO’s main rivals are UltraISO + Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% + Nero.
