The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a classic work by Stephen R. Covey. It was first published in 1989 and is firmly on the best-selling book list in major bookstores around the world. It has published over 100 million copies in more than 70 countries and in more than 30 languages. It was also named “One of the top 10 most influential management books of all time” by Forbes, and “The most influential economics book of the 20th century” by Chief Executive.

Business leaders all know that only when every employee becomes a high-performance person, can the company truly become a high-performance company. This also applies in the realm of personal life. As a business and self-help book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People teaches not some fad or management technique, but fundamental principles that have stood the test of time and can guide behaviors. Through radical changes in thinking, we achieve changes in behavior, thereby strengthening the management mechanism and cultivating a common language and values within the organization.

In this book, the author puts forward the idea that “all-round success is real success” and lists seven principles to achieve “all-round success”. Its essence is the spiritual growth process of human beings “from dependence to independence, and from independence to interdependence”. This book emphasizes taking principles as the center, character as the basis, and conducting “inside-out” cultivation that can achieve personal effectiveness and interpersonal effectiveness. Therefore, this is not a textbook for quick success, but it educates us to fundamentally change our ideas, develop good habits, and even change our thinking patterns and views of the world.
