BeamNG.drive is a vehicle simulator based on dynamic soft-body physics, developed by BeamNG from Germany in 2013, using the Torque 3D engine. It was started by some developers of Rigs of Rods, who gathered to improve upon the open-source software with a new product in 2011.

BeamNG.drive employs BeamNG’s exclusive and impressive physics engine – Beam Next Generation, comes with amazing, extremely realistic vehicle crash effects. The in-game vehicle skeleton is made up of beams and nodes, and has the same power unit, body mass, appearance, and interior design as similar vehicles in the real world. During the driving process, the physics engine calculates various forces being subjected to at the same time, producing realistic dynamic behaviors, so as to truly recreate the feeling of driving a vehicle in the real world.

As an immersive driving simulation sandbox game that focuses on simulating extremely realistic vehicle driving and collisions with other objects in a variety of environments, BeamNG.drive has almost unlimited possibilities. It can simulate every part of the vehicle in real time, offers a wide variety of vehicles and venues, allows players to customize the vehicle and engine and adjust all the details to create the driving experience of their dreams in a vast, customizable open world.

What’s more, the graphics quality is excellent, and the game supports a large number of controllers, steering wheels, and even VR and TrackIR head tracking devices, giving the player an immersive feeling. In addition, BeamNG.drive also has a fairly large community of players – the official forum, where there are all sorts of MODs you wouldn’t expect (e.g. : classic cars, race cars, planes, boats, explosives, items, maps, tracks) to add more fun to the game.
