There are many ways to fake the displayed capacity info of any type of storage device (this is nothing new in the Chinese electronic marketplaces, where you have to have a third eye to avoid being cheated). For example, using the “subst” command to create a partition shortcut (which can be understood as a virtual partition); using “SFDISK” (hard disk partitioning tool under DOS) to modify the partition table information; using WinHex (to offset the DBR of disk to the target capacity), PC-3000 and similar tools to change disk information in the underlying hardware.

MyDiskTest is the first real sense of capacity expansion identification and detection tool for USB flash drive, SD card, CF card, memory stick, mobile HDD, and other mobile storage devices. It integrates 5 major functions in one place (including expanded capacity detection, bad block scan, speed test, burn-in test, bad block shielding), can be regarded as an effective anti-fraud tool when purchasing mobile storage products such as USB flash drive and memory card.

MyDiskTest is able to easily detect whether a variety of mobile storage products have been expanded in capacity, sell seconds at best quality prices, deceive customers, and detect whether a Flash memory has bad blocks, or uses the black chip. These test procedures do not destroy the original data on disk. In addition, it also can test the reading and writing speeds of your USB flash drive, and carry out burn-in test on storage products.

When you use an excessively cheap or used USB flash drive and something goes wrong for no apparent reason, it appears very necessary to test it with MyDiskTest. If it is found that it is an expanded disk in capacity, you must immediately copy the important data inside to a safe place, otherwise they may be lost or destroyed at any time. In addition, for the expanded USB flash drives and other storage devices, they can be restored to their actual capacity with the mass production tool issued by the corresponding manufacturer.
