Rogue’s Tale is a small 2D A-RPG indie game developed by nibbe. Very high difficulty and time consuming are its two striking features, which also cause it grossly underestimated, but this does not affect the fact it is a superb work with a pretty high playability (such as numerous kinds of dead methods making players impressed).

Although Steam‘s user evaluation system is very sharp – that means it will rarely give much praise to lousy games, also seldom bury the really good ones. But due to the defects of its evaluation system, we still found some good works buried. Rogue’s Tale is the very one of them – grossly undervalued, which is equivalent to make a sentence of death to this game on Steam platform!

For the real game players, anyway, AppNee insists on recommending Rogue’s Tale to you, talking too much detail about the game itself will probably be too one-sided and extreme. Hence, we only suggest spending at least 100 hours on this little game (can be discontinuous), after that, you’ll find your love for it shown in facial expressions. Its excellent places are out of imagination for many traditional rogue-like games (from early NetHack, Tales Of Maj’Eyal, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup to recent Dungeons of Dredmor, Sword of the Stars: The Pit, Dungeon of Endless…) – easy to start, graphics full of affinity, gentle learning curve, and game rules having enough depth.
