X-Particles is a very powerful and fully-functional particle and VFX system plug-in specially made for Cinema 4D, developed by INSYDIUM from England. It is considered as an important part of the artist toolkit, also one of the essential plugins for Cinema 4D, which can meet all your particle effects needs, including cloth, smoke, fire, fluids, grains and dynamics.

As currently the most comprehensive and advanced particle simulation and rendering plug-in, X-Particles uses a unique “Questions and Actions” rule system, can completely control all aspects of particle simulation flow line, and accurately control almost all parameters of particles. It does not need the original particle system of Cinema 4D or other third-party modules such as Xpresso and thinkingParticles. In X-Particles, designers can easily switch between dynamic graphics and VFX in a unified system.

X-Particles can be perfectly integrated with Cinema 4D as if it were part of it. And it’s fully compatible with many existing particle modifiers, object deformers, Mograph effectors, Hair module, native Thinking Particles, and works well with the dynamics system.

Data Mapping Fully exchange, manipulate and combine particle data from every place within X-Particles. Use the Data Mapping tab in each X-Particles modifier to access particle attributes like texture, brightness, speed or temperature, giving a totally new level of control.
OpenVDB Meshing Streamlined workflow for meshing using our filtering system, means you can layer up your effects, generate smooth flowing surfaces, re-mesh geometry objects or create complex models. OpenVDB enables you to entirely art direct meshes; you can take total control of your artwork.
Questions and Actions X-Particles uses a unique system of Questions and Actions giving you full control over your particle simulations without the need for XPresso or Cinema 4D’s native particle system. Bring your simulations to life with easy to use tools for everything from particle life, size, age, color and much more.
DynamicFX The xpDynamics tag is fully integrated into the X-Particles system and works with Fluids, Smoke, Fire and Constraints. Dynamic Objects can be controlled and art-directed using X-Particles Emitters, Modifiers, Questions & Actions and Data Mapping.
FluidFX Granular Create physically accurate sand and snow effects with our xpFluidFX Granular solver. Render as particles or create custom geometry using our OpenVDB mesher.
Circle Packer xpCirclePacker enables you to emit particles while dynamically avoiding intersections. It controls the particle radius and emission point, avoiding overlap. Control the minimum and maximum radii of the packed circles and use the separation parameter to give your particles space.
OpenVDB Support Our industry-standard particle meshing, the powerful OpenVDB framework. With a streamlined workflow for meshing using our filtering system, you can layer up your effects, generate smooth flowing surfaces, re-mesh geometry objects or create complex models. OpenVDB enables you to entirely art direct meshes; you can take total control of your artwork.
Vorticity Refinement The Vorticity feature of ExplosiaFX enables you to add fine details to your simulations. A high amount of vorticity will amplify the “curly” features in the fluid. This will lets you to create a wide range of fire and smoke effects from a small candle fire to large scale explosions.
Geometric Dissection xpShatter provides full control over slicing your models into precise pieces by allowing the use of multiple shatter sources such as Curves, Primitives, Custom Geometry and Particles. With xpShatter you can choose between volume and surface-only shattering, giving you many options for geometric dissection.
Emission Control Endless possibilities with Emission Control, emit Smoke and Fire from geometry with texture support. Emit particles to paint the shape of the explosion, take full control over heat, fuel, smoke and velocity channels. Full Object and Particle Color Support enables you to create Fire and Smoke from xpFluidFX and xpClothFX.
Infectio xpInfectio simulates growth patterns; it’s modelled on the idea of an infection spreading from one particle to another. However, it can be used on any simulated growth system. It fully supports particle groups and the Question and Action system allowing you to create stunning transitions in combination with the other VFX modules.
Flowfield Modifier Our velocity field generator, xpFlowField lets you create custom velocity field effects. You can drive particles and ExplosiaFX simulations with Splines, Object Tangents or Normals, and use the Cinema 4D noises to art direct your own custom turbulence. Flow Fields can be mixed and layered to push directed particle effects to the next level.

AppNee provides the X-Particles multilingual full installers for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit, and Mac.

// Installation Notes //

for v4.0 on Windows:

  1. Install Cinema 4D
  2. Copy the “X-Particles” folder under “X-Particles (bilingual)” to the path like “C:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R19\plugins\”
  3. Open RunAsDate, drag “Cinema 4D.exe” to “Application to run” field, change the time to current time, check “Immediate Mode” box, input a name and click ‘Create Desktop Shortcut =>‘, then click ‘Run
  4. At the “X-Particles Serial Number” window, input the following info:
    • Name: AppNee Freeware Group.
    • Email address: [email protected]
    • X-Particles Serial: XPL-000-SSD-QEI-PPK-70J-5F7-CM3-6E9-VS5-113
  5. Click ‘No‘ -> ‘OK‘, and wait
  6. Enter settings (Ctrl + E), disable the “Online Updater” feature of X-Particles, and exit program
  7. Use Firewall App Blocker or any firewall program to block “Cinema 4D.exe” from connecting to the Internet
  8. Copy the “X-Particles” folder under “X-Particles (original)” to the same path (C:\Program Files\MAXON\Cinema 4D R19\plugins\) and overwrite (you can delete the former first, then paste the new)
  9. Done

*** Run the shortcut created on desktop to launch Cinema 4D instead.
