SpriteIlluminator is a powerful and friendly normal map production tool designed for 2D game objects and artworks, developed by CodeAndWeb from Germany. Its biggest function is to make the 2D surface generate a certain degree of detailed lighting direction and reflection effects. That is, create a 3D lighting effect on an ordinary 2D picture.

SpriteIlluminator provides a wealth of tools and an intuitive interface, can create and edit normal maps for sprites and add dynamic lighting effects to them, and supports multiple game engines such as Unity, GameMaker Studio, and Cocos2d. Its tools are mainly divided into three sections: effect tools, painting tools, and selection tools. You can improve the light and shadow effects of 2D sprites through tools such as Bevel, Emboss, Corner Brush, Polygonal Lasso, and Magic Wand. In addition, it can be used with other software that can draw normal maps.

All in all, SpriteIlluminator is a fairly professional normal map editor for dynamic lighting and special effects for 2D game graphics. It can successfully help you transform your sprites from boring to full-shape dynamically illuminated versions. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for designers and game developers who want to create 2D game graphics effects, but do not want to spend a lot of time on tedious details.
